"Unsustainable Development" December '22

My design & execution from December 2022

Functional survival-based garment, configured by implementing a critical approach. A narrative which conceptualizes a dystopian world was developed. This dystopia is regarded as a result of persistent unsustainable living habits. The garment is envisioned to be created and worn by an individual bearing the consequences of having to survive in this impending version of our world.

Narrative: Due to years of neglect, the environment was destroyed. After finally realizing what had happened, humans decided to segregate their society in order to save the human race. Individuals who had been living sustainably reside within “Earth Domes”, in which agriculture and resources, although limited, were maintained. The rest of society was forced to live outside the domes; within campsites that center around electrolysis machines which artificially produce intoxicated Oxygen. The outcasted group survive by depending on “Dome Smugglers”, individuals who steal resources from within domes. The garment is thought to be created and worn by one of the smugglers, in order to facilitate smuggling.

The bodysuit contains 3 main features in accordance to facilitation:
Solar Panel Powered Light System Sleeve
Detachable Zipper Leg
Excessive All-Around Pockets
